The End… for now.

Well if you are friends with me on facebook you already know that my family is going to be moving to Wyoming. Now I’ll explain why. Jay and I spent time in Jackson Hole, WY several years ago for a vacation. It was SO beautiful and we talked, albeit jokingly, how we would love to live there. This February Jay was looking at going back and bringing the kids to see Yellowstone and checking out something a little further south. He ended up on the Pinedale, WY site. What he saw was pretty interesting, a job opening for a school superintendent. He showed it to me and I reminded him about how we had talked about moving there someday. I encouraged him to apply noting what a great adventure it would be if he were to get it. He assured me that it was a possibility but not a probability that he would get the job. He got a call several weeks later, had a screening interview, then another phone interview and then got a phone call that told him he was one of 4 finalists that would be asked to come interview in person… oh and please bring your wife to make sure she likes it too. So last week we went out to Wyoming. It was beautiful weather and we had a great couple of days. The people of Pinedale are very welcoming. We were given a tour of all the schools and Jay interviewed with several different groups and by the end of it they decided they wanted him and we decided it would be a great opportunity for us.

That’s it. Well, almost. The other news is that I will not be working as a photographer in Pinedale. I have decided that I will spend time as a mom and wife helping everyone get acclimated to our new home and town (and state for that matter). I love photography so much but working nights and weekends is not terribly conducive to the kind of family lifestyle that I want so I will be putting it on hold until the time is right.

What does that mean for my clients and friends who want pictures. Well honestly I don’t know. I have to pack us up, have a garage sale and take pictures at prom and t-ball, as well as a family, a child session and at least 2 seniors… sooooo that means my time is limited. If at all possible, I will fit friends and past clients in. As far as new clients I’m afraid I won’t be able to accept them.  I apologize for any problems this causes anyone but it is what has to be done in the time that I have.

I will be offering past clients discs of images for as many sessions as I can at a hugely discounted rate. If I have recently taken your images this will not effect much for you other than I will ask that you have your orders in no later than June 1st.

I want to thank all of you for your well wishes, friendship and love. It’s a pleasure to have each of you in my life.

Thank you,
Sam

Problem solved?

Well it’s been a while again. My hosting server was hacked and had a virus that wouldn’t allow me to get where I needed to be to post. I’m happy to say that the blog and the site are both fixed but my email is still pretty wonky. It’s spring now and the time has already changed. My daughter has had her 6th Gotcha Day. I’ve had the nastiest cold and then given it to Grace who proceeded to turn it into a sinus infection, the flu, an ear ache and finally a ruptured ear drum. She is on antibiotics and doing great now but thank God it was spring break or she would have missed a week of school… but I digress.

This spring I hope to post more fabulous pictures and tell more exciting stories but right now I have to run to a senior session. More soon…

New Year… sigh

Well I failed my test. I haven’t posted since August (yikes) and that is WAAAAY too long. I’m sure I’ve lost a few of you so to those of you who keep checking in, Thank you! I’ve been ultra busy and trying hard to give my family the needed and deserved attention for the holidays. Now that they are over (until Valentines but you get the point) I am back and I’m reworking a few things. You’ll notice over the next month or so a few changes in the website as well as the way I’m doing a few things. I would love your feedback on the changes and, well, anything else. Yes, you’re even allowed to tell me I’m a punk for not posting in so long. I’ll be posting pics soon but it will be slightly difficult to show everything I’ve been doing due to a wretched evil nasty hard drive crash that I went through right before Thanksgiving. I’m back and better than ever (at least I like to think so) and I’ve learned my lesson with backing up ALL of my files.

So since I’ve missed it: Happy Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Year and anything else I might have missed! I hope your Holiday’s were as happy as mine!

Blue Ridge Homecoming Court ~ Farmer City Photography

Well here it is, the 2009 Blue Ridge High School Homecoming Court! I know you’ve all been waiting with baited breath to see these pictures and I would like to apologize to all the parents and family friends for not letting everyone get a chance to snap a shot of the large group for themselves. I was trying to make a slow process faster and missed that important step!

If anyone would like to order I just need to know which image (denoted by the royal blue number in the bottom left hand corner of each image), the size and the quantity.  I will be using my dance pricing for these images so let me know if you’d like an 8×10 ($15), a 5×7 ($8) or a 4×6 ($7). You can call me at 309-928-2650 or email at samantha@harnackphoto.com

Thank you and enjoy!

I ♥ Adoption! ~ Bloomington Child Photography

Ok first I would like to apologize for being a bum and not posting more. I have been slightly swamped with seniors, getting my kiddos back to school without incident and painting almost every room in our house. That said, I will be better (yeah, you’ve heard that before :)

Now onto the best part! As you all know I’m a huge fan of adoption as both my kiddos were adopted from S. Korea. I had the pleasure of meeting Kathy at a Lifebook workshop in Bloomington before her daughter came home. I told her about my Adoption Imagery and she was pretty excited. After sweet Nia made it home we tried and tried to get a session for her but something kept coming up. We finally got together and although Nia was teething and not terribly sure about me we got some ADORABLE pics of Nia and her big brothers for Kathy to see… which she hasn’t yet. So this is not only eye candy for the casual viewer but it’s a sneak peek for Kathy. I hope you all enjoy!

Ms. Vi ~ Central IL Newborn Photography

Vi is the 4th child of a dear friend of mine and I was SOOO privilged to be her photograper! She was awake most of the session which I was worried about  since I usually like them sleeping at this age, but she was tired enough to let me get some really sweet shots of her. Here’s a few for you to ooh and ahh over. Thanks Kelly and Vi for coming to visit!Newborn Photographer Central Illinois
